FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Growing Africa’s fashion industry can transform economies, enrich cultural identities, says Africa Fashion Show Geneva
GENEVA, 26 MAY 2016: Major African countries are experiencing low economic growth as a result of the fall in global commodity prices, but the transformative potential of the fashion industry can reduce Africa’s dependence on commodities and set the region on a healthier path to economic diversification, while enriching its enviable culture and traditions.
The Africa Fashion Show Geneva is the flagship annual event organized by Crucible Events & Planners, an event management company based in Geneva. AFSG is more than a fashion show, it is a prestigious event that highlights African talents and creativity from around the world. Founded in 2013, the medium-term goal of AFSG is to be recognized as one of the most important fashion platforms in Europe, thanks to the work of a multidisciplinary and experienced team. For a few years now, experienced and up and coming designers present their creations and through them, their vision of Africa. This annual show also brings together key players in the creative industry as well as key members of the African community to witness the culturally-rich and traditionally-inspired African garments and clothing.
